Based on the TVOKids show Kid Diners, you’re on a mission to explore Canadian cities and put together a delicious and healthy plate for Honey & Winston - be sure to use the special ingredient from the city you’re in, and include all the food groups to get the highest score!

● Learn about food and healthy eating
● Play three different challenges in each city
● Use the special ingredient when making your meal
● Pay attention to your diner’s likes and dislikes
● Provide a balanced meal with all the food groups
● Unlock special items
● Sizzle up something special in the frying pan to make a delicious meal - but don’t leave it in too long or it’ll burn!
● Blend ingredients for an outrageous smoothie - but remember to turn off the blender before it overflows!

Ingredients, game scoring and food information developed with an educational consultant. The game is designed to be engaging and a learning experience for the target audience of 8-9 year olds, but easily played by 5 year olds.

Built on the foundation of the current Canada Food Guide, players are asked to prepare a balanced meal in terms of the food groups as well portion sizes. These are two important features in helping children learn about healthy eating.

All the meals are prepared and made with fresh product and not pre-packaged foods. The game’s intent is to have young people feel comfortable and have fun preparing meals.

While the Player has fun preparing meals it is also important to be safe in doing so and this is demonstrated in several ways:

● Basic Food Safety- messaging to wash hands before handling food and to wash fruits and vegetables before eating them raw.
● Kitchen Safety- while basic meals can be prepared by 8-9 year olds the game does highlight that there should be adult supervision in place when using certain appliances such as the stove and blender, as well as when using knives to prepare food.
